August 2016: Grass Island Lavatory building is finally getting started. The building is surrounded by water, and designed to meet all current flood requirements. Grass Island Park is home to marina access, facilities, public boat ramp, and aquatic preserve at one of the best locations in town!

 

 

 

 

 

July 2016: Tokeneke Club in Darien wrapping up its elaborate clubhouse addition, and major site renovation. With weddings scheduled for the first of August, Wernert works closely with Owner, Architects, and town officials to open the club for its first wedding event in the new building. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

May 2016: Wernert Construction is awarded the Greenwich Pool Project that is public-private partnership between the Junior League of Greenwich and The Town of Greenwich to build a new outdoor community. The project is 2 phases one includes a 6,400 square foot main pool with 25 meter lap lanes, and zero depth entry. A 400 square foot kids pool, along side a 1,000 square foot splash pad with interactive water features. topped of with all new pavilion building that will house changing rooms, lifeguard stand, and concession cafe. phase two including removal of existing buildings, the expansion of the beach area and parking lot. Slated to be completed in the fall of 2018 with a two phase schedule.   

 

 

September 2015:  Whippoorwill Country Club, in Armonk NY is scheduled for completion in November. Wernert is excited to turn over the keys to this state of the art, multi-building facility! Photos of the finished project to hit our commercial page shortly!

February 2015:  UPDATE: Wernert Associates, Inc, our residential division, has become very active over the last few months.  We are in the design/permitting stage for a design-build renovation project in Greenburgh, NY.  We have started a interior gut renovation project on a 2-story townhouse located on Church Rd in Greenwich CT.  In addition to these, we have been hired for 3 other design/build addition/renovation projects, on Stanwich Road in Greenwich, another in mid-county Stamford, and in Old Greenwich. We are in the design phase for all of these.  We will update progress on all of the projects in the next couple of months. 

 

December 2014:  Wernert Construction Management, Inc. is proud to announce being awarded Construction Management Services for the Tokeneke Club located in Darien CT.  The scope of this project includes demolition of the existing Club House (restaurant remains) and construction of a new FEMA compliant Club House including tennis pro shop, administrative offices, private dining room and expanded kitchen and storage facilities. In addition the Bath House will be partially demolished and renovated to include lockers and changing rooms. The project will also include re-feeding CL&P power lines, burying lines and relocating transformers closer to the building. The scope also includes the installation of a new septic system. The existing septic system will be maintained for storm water management.  The project will commence in September 2015 and will be complete and fully operational for Memorial Day 2016.

 

The architects on the project are James G Rogers, Architects and Pagliaro Bartels Sajda Architects LLC, both of South Norwalk.  The owner representative is ARGYLE Project Management.

 

November 2014:  Wernert is thrilled to be a  hired by the Whippoorwill Club in Armonk to construct a new Turf Management and Maintenance Facility.  The project will encompass demolishing the existing facility and building a new 15,000sf facility with finished office space, storage area, and maintenance areas.  Wernert will be working with Sullivan Architecture, PC of White Plains.  The project is scheduled to be completed September 2015.

 

October 2014:  Wernert Construction will be working again with the Town of Greenwich on a selective demolition project of the Seton House, a Historic Mansion located in Montgomery Pinetum Park in Cos Cob.  In an effort to salvage parts of the structure for preservation, the project consist of removing the roof, second floor, interior wood spaces and plaster and keeping the first floor consisting of very thick stone walls.  Since 2002 the building has been vandalized and is now deemed unsafe.

 

October 2014:  We are very excited to again be working with Pathways, Inc. of Greenwich.  In 2009, we completed several addition/renovation projects for them on 3 of their properties in town.  We are set to start a gut renovation plus enclosed stairwell addition on a 3-story mason building in Downtown Greenwich. 

 

Pathways is a private, non-profit agency which provides services for adults who suffer from serious and prolonged mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depression. Programs include safe, affordable housing with varying levels of support, case management, and rehabilitation services.

 

Wernert is proud to support Pathways, Inc.  The project is scheduled to be complete in August 2015.

 

 August 2014:  We are thrilled to have been given another opportunity to work with Collins Enterprises LLC. We have been hired to reduce to core as well as prepare the core of 14,000 sf for a future tenant at Plaza West, 2001 West Main Street, Stamford.   Ridberg + Associates, architects out of Greenwich CT have prepared the design.

 

July 2014:  Wernert Construction is proud to be hired by St. Andrew's Golf Club in Hasting on Hudson, NY to build a new Golf Training Facility.  The new 4,000 SF practice facility, designed by JGR Architects in the style of the clubhouse, will become a self-sufficient center for socializing and practice.  Its three indoor hitting/teaching bays are openable to the driving range, and covered stations permit practice on rainy days.  A lounge with fireplace, bar, and locker rooms will make this building a center of member activity and is sure to become home to functions the Club hasn't offered members previously.  This facility is an exciting example of the continued efforts of clubs to offer services to its members, keeping them more fully engaged in club life.  We are very excited to be involved. 

 

June 2014:  Wernert Construction is very excited to start work with the Greenwich Skating Club on Phase 1- A New Mechanical Building.  The building will house all new chiller equipment for the skating rink as well as a garage for the zamboni.  The building will be ready for there season opening of October 31st, 2014.  Phase 2, scheduled for spring of 2015, will involve the demolition of the existing clubhouse building and construction of a new one.      

 

February 2014: We are excited to announce that we have been hired as the General Contractor for the Lewisboro Library Expansion Project. The project will involve rearranging the existing floor plan and refurbishing the existing exterior and interior surfaces, HVAC and electric power. It will entail three distinct one-story additions, adding 1,700 square feet to the building. Site work will include installing a new underground storm water collection system and associated repaving, landscaping, refurbishing walkways, relocating overhead electric service, etc. We are scheduled to break ground in April.

January 2014: We replaced the columns on the Greenwich Landmark, "Town Hall".  We were excited to be involved with such a technical and difficult repair of the original columns built in 1925.
